Hillingdon Council has continued to offer a high number of preferred secondary school places to Hillingdon pupils.

Ninety-five per cent were offered one of their preferred places - a higher proportion than last year.

The council received 3,634 secondary school applications. From those, 69.37 per cent of Hillingdon pupils received their first choice.

Hillingdon also achieved higher than the London average for applicants offered one of their top three preference schools at 89.45 per cent, compared to London's 89.26 per cent.

Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, said: "I am pleased that so many children received their first choice and a high number continued to get one of their preferred options.

"Education remains a top priority for the council, and we will continue to support our schools and families to give Hillingdon's children and young people the best start in life."
