Now in their tenth year, our free Family Fishing Fun Days are being held on Sunday 29 July and 12 August 2018, 9.30am to 3.30pm at Little Britain Lake, Cowley.
These popular council-run events, are open to residents of all ages. You don't need to be an experienced angler to attend and take part, as it's a welcoming day where you can experience a new pastime and have fun as a family, with friends or on your own. All equipment and bait are provided.
Other activities include, bird box making and face painting.
Introduction to angling sessions will run every hour from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Registration will be open on the day only, with places offered on a first come, first served basis.

The club offers members a choice of styles of angling, with matches held on their own waters and also on other waters. The Slough arm of the Grand Union canal is fishable in the close season. Most of the club's fisheries are members only, and on some you can park within 6 feet from the bank so you can be fishing without any long walks.

This large club is exceptional value for money for it's many private fisheries. There is river fishing on the Colne at Rickmansworth, Denham and Harefield with a further 5 Stretches on the River Thames. For lovers of still water angling - from juniors to specimen hunters - the club has Batchworth Lake (Rickmansworth Squadron), the Golf Course Lakes at Denham, South Troy Lake in Harefield, a prolific mixed fishery at Billet Lane (Langley), a traditional tench water at Cowley Lake (West Drayton) and the perfect junior venue at Knightscote Pond in Harefield. We also have access via sub-let to an excellent stretch of the Grand Union Canal at Rickmansworth.
Our venues contain carp to over 40lb, tench to 11lb+, large bream and barbel to 18lb, perch to 4lb and pike to well over 15lb+.
For juniors, membership is free (with just a £1 admin fee) and we have a number of waters very suitable for newcomers to angling

West Drayton Angling Club has good stretches of the Rivers Colne and Frays in West Drayton holding barbel, bream, chub, and perch plus a variety of other silver fish. The club offers exchange tickets with other clubs, so that you can fish their waters and has a very active match group holding 20 matches a season plus open matches. These are held at the club fisheries and various venues not too far away from West Drayton.
Meetings are held fortnightly at West Drayton Community Centre where all club members are welcome to attend.

The Blenheim Angling Society is a local fishing club which has the fishing rights on the Grand Union Canal from Denham Deep Lock to Batchworth Lock at Rickmansworth (next to the Aquadrome ).

Denham tends to fish better than Harefield but the fish are there for those prepared to spend time looking for them. Anglers need to beware of power lines and moored boats. Day tickets and Season permits are available from Harefield Tackle.
