Decorations and lighting
The barn has very good lighting installed that can be adjusted as required. Any additional lighting would only be for decorative purposes.
Please note: The Great Barn has a limited power supply and may not be able to accommodate larger lights. We recommend the use of battery-powered fairly lights, candle and tea lights, approximately 5 metres of lights provide seven turns around the beams, and would need approximately 3.5 meters of cable to reach the floor sockets.
Due to the age of the Great Barn, we cannot allow some types of decorations and lighting.
The following are not permitted for use inside the Great Barn:
- flames, candles or flame-lit lamps
- gas heaters
- Blu-Tak or similar
- pins or tacks
- sellotape or adhesive tapes
- candelabras
- Chinese lanterns
- firework style candle or fireworks.
Conditions
- Decorations and lighting must be installed and removed within your hire times.
- Electrical lighting and decorations must have a valid PAT certificate.
- Decorative items must be flame proofed before they are brought into the Great Barn.
- We do not provide ladders or other decorating tools.
- Guests who have consumed alcohol will not be allowed to use ladders to take down decorations at the end of the event.
- Penalty costs will be taken from your deposit if decoration items including confetti and glitter are not removed.
