MOVES exercises classes

The mobility for the older vulnerable elderly seniors (MOVES) programme is an exercise and activity club for those aged 65+

Being more active has many benefits - it improves physical and mental health, and enables people to stay connected to their family, friends and communities. As well as being more active in general, we know that maintaining and improving muscle strength and balance can help people in later life live independently and reduce the risk of falls.

There are a variety of gentle sessions across the borough targeted for the 65 plus. Equipment and advice is available for you at all of the clubs, whichever you decide to come along to and try. Each session is £2 per person. No need to book, just drop in.

Guidelines for older adults aged 65 plus

At least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity such as cycling or walking every week, and strength exercises on two or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms).

Zumba Gold
