Equipment for your home

If you have problems completing daily living activities safely and independently, there are many different types of specially designed equipment to make looking after yourself easier.

Simple equipment

Small pieces of equipment such as perching stools and raised toilet seats can make daily living tasks much easier to manage.

For independent advice about daily living and mobility aids you can contact the Living Made Easy, which is a national charity, at Living Made Easy. Locally you can contact the Hillingdon Advice Partnership on 020 8044 5676 or visit Hillingdon Advice Partnership.

How do I obtain equipment?

You could use AskSARA (Self-Assessment Raid Access), an assessment tool that will help identify potential aids and services that might be helpful. See AskSARA. Information at Living Made Easy will give you options about how to obtain equipment.

You can also request an assessment and if you are eligible to receive equipment you will receive a loan of equipment from Medequip, our new community equipment provider.

If you think you or someone you care for would benefit from home monitoring, read about our TeleCareLine service.
