Domestic abuse

Zero tolerance approach

We are committed to preventing and eradicating all forms of violence and abuse against women, children and men in Hillingdon and to support those victimised to achieve their full potential in life.

We want Hillingdon to be a safe space for everyone and we are committed to our zero tolerance policy to domestic abuse. Our main priorities are:

  1. Prevention and engagement
We and our partners are committed to working with communities, charities and others to make violence and abuse unacceptable in all communities. There is a clear commitment to protecting victims and breaking the cycle of offending.
  2. Service provision
We and our partners will engage with victims and survivors to understand their experiences of services. By listening to victims and survivors, action will be taken to improve. The right services will be commissioned and coordinated to prevent violence and abuse in a sustained way.
  3. Pursuing perpetrators
We and our partners will work to strengthen the justice response. This work will also include strengthening agencies work in assessing and minimising the risks posed by perpetrators.
  4. Partnership working
Together the Safer Hillingdon Partnership will work with a broad coalition of partners to create a safer borough and a safer future for victims, survivors and future generations.
