Repairing and recycling unwanted electricals

Approximately 2 million tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) items are discarded by households and businesses every year.

WEEE includes large and small household appliances, including:

  • computers
  • gaming consoles
  • mobile phones
  • other items that require batteries or use a plug socket.

Some of these items can be repaired and used again. Repairing electrical items not only saves you money but also reduces waste and carbon emissions.

Did you know that vapes can be recycled with small electricals at Harefield Civic Amenity Site?

Electrical Repair Service Directory

The West London Waste Authority and the Restart Project has developed an electrical directory to show residents where they can repair their broken electrical items to avoid disposal.

If you have any electrical items that are broken or not working as well as they used to, you can use the repair directory to find the nearest business to repair your broken electrical device.
