We collect general rubbish every week from more than 100,000 households in the borough.
Instead of disposing of unwanted items that still have life in them, why not donate them to a charity, such as Trinity, or sell/giveaway unwanted items through Freegle, Freecycle or social media sites.
We make regular and one-off free collections of clinical waste for households in Hillingdon. Please note: This service is not available to businesses and schools.
Residents who need to dispose of items such as stoma bags, colostomy bags, bandages and dressings can use our bag collection service.
This collection is made every Wednesday and bags should be left on your doorstep the night before or by 6am on the day of collection. Our team will leave new bags for you when they collect your disposed bags.
To order your first set of bags, call our Contact Centre on 01895 556000 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
Sharps box collection
Residents who need to dispose of needles, syringes, lancets (used with finger pricking devices) or clippers can use our sharps box collection.
Sharps box collections are usually made on the first Thursday and Friday of every month.
Sharps box collections for November are now full. Next collection dates are Thursday 7 and Friday 8 December.
Boxes should be left on your doorstep the night before or by 6am on the day of collection.
If you live in a flat, which has a 'trade' button that our team can use to gain entry, then the box can be left outside your front door. Alternatively, leave the box in a communal bin area that our team can access. When you request a collection, please add a note (providing any access codes, if needed) when asked 'Are there any further details you want to provide us with?'
