Planning policy

Infrastructure Planning

The following plans relate to infrastructure planning and enable Hillingdon Council and its partner organisations to plan positively for sustainable growth.

West London Strategic Infrastructure Delivery Plan

The West London Strategic Infrastructure Delivery Plan (SIDP) covers the 7 London boroughs that form the West London Alliance (WLA) - Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow - as well as the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).

The purpose of the SIDP is to provide information on future strategic infrastructure requirements. These requirements are those that are deemed critical to enabling planned housing and commercial space growth within West London, as well as potential increments over and above the baseline, in line with strategic policy objectives.

Strategic Infrastructure Plan

The Strategic Infrastructure Plan assesses and plans for the amount and type of infrastructure required to achieve the sustainable development outlined within the Local Plan.

Hillingdon Council produced its latest SIP in May 2017.

Development Infrastructure Funding Study

In March 2016, the council agreed to establish the Hayes housing zone.

In order to assess and plan for the amount and type of infrastructure required to achieve the anticipated level of growth, a Development Infrastructure Funding Study was required.

Hillingdon Council produced its latest DIFS in May 2017.

Open Space Strategy

High quality parks and public spaces create economic, social and environmental value.

In July 2011, we produced an Open Space Strategy to assist with producing and implementing planning policy.
