The SCI ensures effective community involvement in the planning process.
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document that sets out how the council intends to involve all sections of the community in the planning process. The council is updating the SCI to take account of legislative and policy changes since the last SCI was adopted in 2006. It is also being updated to include up-to-date consultation techniques and methods of communication, such as the use of digital communication.
Draft revised SCI 2021, public consultation
The council is consulting on a new and updated version of the SCI for a four-week period from Friday 25 June 2021 to Friday 23 July 2021.
A virtual drop-in session to discuss the SCI will be held at 6pm on Tuesday 20 July 2021. If you would like to attend this meeting, please register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and a meeting invitation will be sent to you.
It sets out how and when the council will involve the community in the preparation and development of its Local Development Framework and in determining applications for significant planning projects.
The SCI was adopted by the council on 8 November 2006 and it's now a legal document that forms part of Hillingdon's Local Plan.
